Open for dine in, patio (weather permitting) and takeout. Open Tuesday- Sunday 8am-2:30pm. No reservations are accepted. First come, first serve. Credit only The Mad Hatter is an upscale breakfast & lunch eatery in the Park Ave neighborhood. You’ll be greeted by our host in our amazing bakery! We serve an award winning brunch fare that includes our signature Benedict’s, frittatas, fluffy housemade pancakes & vegetarian biscuits & gravy, sandwiches, & soups. There is something for everyone including gluten free & vegan options! We pride ourselves in using local ingredients & supporting other local businesses! High Tea is available by reservation. Weekdays at 1pm & 2nd Saturday of the month at 3pm.

Fabulous service from the servers. Very attentive and helpful - it seems they enjoy their jobs! Food was good (though somehow as a vegetarian I missed that there was bacon in the bean burrito 😣.). The setting was nice inside and the outdoor seating looked welcoming. I bought 6 desserts for a party later - ALL were amazing! Good ingredients and made with care - soooo tasty!

I came here on a Saturday in June. The gluten-free options were fantastic. I had a scramble with vegetables. A side of bacon, GF toast and fresh fruit. I was thrilled to find healthy options and not be forced to have potatoes. Very tasty. I also had a London fog tea made with Earl Grey tea. I was able to get dairy milk instead of oat milk. The server Michaela was super friendly to me as a solo diner. I hope to come back for afternoon tea.

We will be back. Excellent breakfast or brunch spot. The bakery items in the front are delicious. We sampled a few during our short wait for a table. The menu has so many great choices. And there are many gluten free options. They ask about allergies. This is a fabulous place to go with friends or on a date and very kid friendly. (Pictured are the stuffed peach French toast, the Alice eggs Benedict, and the numerous bakery items.) the dirty chai was hot and tasty.

When I visited Rochester for my sisters wedding I took my friend here for breakfast. The aesthetic is purely adorable, we got to sit by a wall of assorted clocks. The tea was fresh and delicious and the food was prepared exactly how we hoped. As far as service went , it was a little packed at the time but our waitress was on point. I highly recommend checking this place out!

My friend and I went here for brunch and the food was fantastic. My photo of the duck croque madame doesn’t show you how much duck bacon they stuffed inside; the fattiness of the bacon is cut by the mornay sauce. My friend got the flavored coffee with their version of the garbage plate and he got free refills on the coffee. I would suggest coming near opening time because when we left around 11 AM, there was a decent gathering in the waiting room.
